There are various chess club that meet in the North Wales Area that run on differing nights and in different venues.   The three main Clubs that are most active in the Gwynedd Chess League Team Competition are Bangor, Caernarfon and Colwyn Bay.  The Bangor Club usually enters two teams into the competition, one for the City and one for the University.

Gwynedd Chess League Team Competition is a four board competition with generally the highest rated player on board one, the second highest on board two, the third highest on board three and the weakest player on board four.
